Acheh Lon Sayang

*stretch* its been quite a while. the program with the kids from the Darul Ayytam Orphanage Home, Acheh is over. the Hi-tea was a success alhamdulillah..spent a morning with them 5 girls aged between 9-12 came with 2 pengiring. a picnic was organized at the Hutan Bandar. it was beautiful..the hutan that is. the kids enjoyed themselves. they had all the attention they need. they had all the fun they know and we know they'll never get once they get back in Acheh. it was quite an experience being part of the whole program. i mean, i yang i tak join the team pergi Acheh pon sebak je when tgk the video clips, the multimedia presentations and just looking at the gurls laughing and running around got me fighting back tears.

i followed my brother to BBU mosque last Saturday night when he had to give a talk on his experience in Acheh. He made the multi-media presentation and he talked in front of the public who was in the mosque. i was..stunned..from the first second he opened his mouth when he said salaam..i was..kinda overwhelmed. my brother has grown up into such a fine 18 year old guy.. i never ever pictured him, being always the quiet, laid back boy; would ever work his bones out of their place to get himself to Acheh, and made it back, changed sooo much..and there he was, 2 nights in a row talking to the public at large sharing with them his experience staying one month in Acheh, the land that was destroyed by Tsunami. in fact, when my dad told me the day before that Zahid was asked to give a talk, i was like, "ye ke?tipu!". bukannye pandang rendah but i tak penah tgk dia cakap in public! i was SOOO proud of him. i had to admit that i was so overwhelmed that i was fighting back my tears all the while he was talking kat depan tuh..

Road To Acheh (R2A) has brought out the best in my brother and his friends. the ties that binds them, the ukhuwah between them, it was beyond reasonable doubt. they have sent 4months together. they went thru the hard times and teh happy times together, in Malaysia and in Acheh. they have successfully surprised everyone with the abilities, their talents and their hardwork. Hi-Tea was the kemuncak of teh whole R2A prog. contoh la kan, selame i kenal Iqbal as my Zahid's friend, i never ever could ever imagine that he would be the Pengarah of the Hi-Tea prog in Hyatt (but he's still the same old shy Iqbal lah tee hee), it was a major success and if i could, i would give a pat on his back.

R2A 2005 is over.they plan on going back to Acheh in 3 years time. yesterday was the penutup of the whole R2A prog. actually, it was a prog Qiam so it was a sleepover prog. i was invited to join them on Thurday night bcoz there was a forum on campus life and the continuation of tarbiyyah; and i was called to be one of the panels. i had to speak for IIu. but then, when i got there, it turned out that the forum was postponed to the next morning due to some reasonable reasons BUT i was not told. in fact, not my dad, not any of the other panels was told. nvm. abah offered to drive me back home since he was leaving to pick my other brother from school-meeting, but i chose to stay. later i understood and believed that i was chosen and invited to be with them in that program.

u know when in certain situations, u had to join a prog, u had to participate in a prog, u had to attend an event, occasion, a whatever, when u dun really intend to go meB bcoz the program wasn't even for you, but u just find urself there, it's all about thinking positive. in fact, it's all about believing that there's a reason and wisdom behind everything. what i have learnt to believe in is that, sometimes, you are 'there' because you are chosen by God. you are the chosen one and the ones that weren't there with you were the unchosen ones. i'm not saying that i'm better off than others but what i'm saying is that God knows what's best for everyone. some people intended to go, and prolly was already on their way, but God planned it that he/she was not to go, so sumthing else came up in their way or they just forgot about it, or they just changed their mind. it crossed my mind how some people wouldn't attend a program because they don't have any friends to go with them, because they don't wanna go alone, and i think that is such an irrelevant, unreasonable excuse! (ohkay, sudah sedikit keluar tajuk..) ur letting go of an opportunity that was prolly meant only for u!

anyways, back to my story on the closing prog..so i decided to stay. and shur i'm glad i did. other than the adik2 R2A (batch Zahid. my juniors actually semua tu) there was only me and makcik Haseenah. ofcourse, makcik Lainy came as she was the speaker for the slot that night. Makcik Lainy mmg rawk! she's sooo funny and she shur has a lot to say. best la dia bagi talk.. it was also a bonding session for me and the adik2 junior. which was good because the last time i had the chance to talk with each and everyone of them was like, umm..never.. that night, i talked to all of them. at the back of my mind, i silently hope that i was accepted not only as a kak ryhn but also as a representative of PaLS that night (for the akhawat la).. ihsan and umayr was there too so i guess the guys had their share of PaLS reps (the president lagi tuh)..after all, i remembered some gurls actually asked,
"kak ryhn, nape R2A nih, akak alumni tak join? abang2 jeh. yg pegi Acheh pun yg abang2 je.."
hmm..it was quite a tough task having to come up with an answer to their question there..

in fact, that night i felt pretty bad that i didn't sleep over with them. rase guilty coz i got them excited believing that i would stay with them over the night.kesian la plak jugak kat makcik haseenah sorg2..i shud have stayed..but i wasnt prepared and plus, i had to drive back my mom's car coz Zahid took my dad's with him..had to leave one car at home...oh..haih..gtg now.mom calling.i'll sambung later on the Saturday's prog..
