it was raining heavily. not just cats and dogs. nor was it tigers and turtles. it could have been rhinos and mammoths..the thunders were extremely loud that you wonder, what were they so angry at? it almost felt as if the sky was falling. the wind was fierce. almost as ferocious as any storm. the girl just stood in the rain. she had no choice. the sheltered bus stand behind her was overcrowded with people, all seeking shelter from the rain and the raging thunder. and with her bags, she stood waiting.

"awak! kain awak basah tu" she heard a voice shouting in between the sound of the wind and the thunder. she turned around.

"basah sangat dah. sini cepat" he shouted again and motioned for her to come to his side where she saw him making for her a small space between him and an indian lady beside him. she looked at him. long haired, tall and big, in black, with a big back-pack; owh, she can't bother to think for long. she was already drenched. she ran to the shelter and stood in the small space made for her. she dropped her bags on the wet ground. she looked up to say thank you only to see the man running off to a car that has just stopped in front of the stand which quickly sped off once he got in.

thank you anyways sir.

she continued waiting. she kept glancing at the flyover. based on experience, she knows that the passage would be flooded, regardless of it being a roofed flyover. she saw an indian guy in bermudas with umbrella walking down the stairs of the flyover. oh well, maybe i should just wait here and not cross over.." she thought to herself. subconsciously, she was thinking over as to whether she should cross over or not, she didn't realize that she was making it too obvious of what was in her head. she was glancing at the flyover almost too constantly. and she rea;ized thsi only when she heard a voice beside her saying " akak nak saya hantar pakai payung ke situ ka?"

it was the indian guy in bermudas. she was quite surprised. she looked up again at the flyover, she looked at the guy and said "its okay. thank you very much anyways." she smiled, picked up her bags and walked towards the flyover for she saw her father coming down the stairs with a big umbrella, enough for two to share..

as she walked away, she was glad and felt warm for she witnessed yet another proof that chivalry has not died..
