what makes you happy?
it takes simple little things to make one happy... to make one laugh, to make one smile, to make one's heart sing..
as i was sitting down having a good cuppa while waiting for the lecturer to come, i subconsciously walked down my very own memory lane..i recalled the things i used to love doing back in school.. something i havent done for a very long time.
i love writing letters and notes. i used to really take time to write little notes, be it simple short ones or long ones which would naturally turn to a letter since i seldom could write pendek2. lol.
i would put my effort in decorating the paper, the notes. i would sometimes cut the paper into shapes, give it some patterns on the corners of the paper, or even by the sides. i would paste things on the paper, draw, sketch, you name it. if i don't have enough time to draft an original genuine sentences of my own, i would just pluck sentences of quotes or whatever i could think of just to write it down, doll the paper a bit, and give it to the 'lucky' friend.
it makes me happy. i do it everyday. i did. i even write to friends and post to those who are far away. yes, even when i could just email. i love the personal touch one gives when one writes in her/his own writing. you say your writing's ugly, i wouldn't care or even notice about it.
i miss those days.
i am not writing this in the spirit of Valentine's Day mind you. hee..but, really, seriously, no i'm not. just so happens that those were what crossed my mind today.
i want to start drawing again. anyone wants to buy me a 60 colouring pencils set with a sketch book? thanx in advance.. have a good day :D
p/s: another scene which replayed itself in my mind. one of the days when i was doing mini groceries at Jusco, while i was picking tomatoes so carefully and extra-particularly, i heard a voice humming and singing merrily. it was the man next to me. indian-bangla looks. i said
" you sound happy.." and i gave him a smile.
(at this minute only then i thought to myself, God, i hope this guy speaks/understands english).
"oh of course!" (oh thank God) he beamed.
"i buy tomato, i'm happy! they're red and good to eat "
"yes, they are.." i smiled back and made a gesture to leave.
joys of living..
