drama of the night

okay..hany, i'm sorry coz i'm posting sumthng on food again..but this is my 1st attempt baking an originally-truly-ryhn's macaroni and cheese! (the mac n creamy cheese sauce will have to wait for the next xperimenting mood)..thnx to aisya too coz she gave me the basic methods and i just did some 'elaboration' and voila! thing is, u only get to see the 'dah di godek' mac n cheese. coz the moment i turun, only half of it was left..('godek' in my dictionary means sumthng like, dah kene amek, eaten..sumthng like that..i nak kata it's one of the johorean's term, i dun really kno lah..)

ANY how..well yeah, actually i posted the pic here for Sue..ma cher, if i cud post it to Brunei, i wud la..and arep too..(haha...same reason why i cant post pancakes dude)..xpe, ada rezeki, i'll make one for u one day...(for Sue that is ..hehe)

thing is, today was actually surprising..for me that is. the mac n cheese (MnC). in my family, i'm kinda like the weird one..i mean, i'm a bit different compared to the others.(different; check. difficult;check. yes, u heard me. i am very well aware of the fact) usually if i try out on new recipes, especially European cuisines, they're kinda like..well, i wun say they dun appreciate it but i guess its just not their taste..so when i made the MnC today, i expected a great portion of leftovers and i already made plans to take the leftovers for a picnic with my gurls tomoro morn..(picnic story later) but surprisingly, when i went downstairs, there was only half of it. it was so told that my bros had their 3rd helpings of it! oh well..i guess, family ah..if i wasnt their sister, they wudnt even get their fingers on the spoon to even taste it..hehe..at least my 'air tangan' is flowing in their blood now :D sisterly lurve..keh3

picnic story; well, me, atique, hanah and nibah AND djah are planning for a breakfast-picnic (it was Atiques la actually..credits to u 'O Event Planner)..some jogging will be involved..and ofcourse stretching and warming up; all spells 'working out'..waah..planning it je pon dah took up a lot of energy! i shud be able to lose ..hmm..say, 10 kilos by the end of the day tomoro! (or rather 2day.already aftr 12nyte) i wish!

owh, and remind me, what's the menu after the work out? MnC leftovers, coffee and whatever teh ladies will bawak..(O dietitian Sue..have mercy on me!) ..lose or gain weight u ask me? u tell me la. lol..

I cant believe how dependent my family (me, in CAPs) are on Jusco. yeas, Jaya Jusco. the hypermarket. as mentioned before, my house is less than 5 mins drive away from Jusco. or vice versa. thats where we go for meals, we go run off for a loaf of bread, for a bag of apples, and yeah, even for a carton of milk. very dependent. and i just realized it today.

after Maghrib tadi went out with Umi and Abah for groceries. the moment we drove in the Jusco carpark, surprise2! the hypermarket tutup! the other shops bukak la. but the groc dept tutup. abah said every month it'll tutup for a day. no hal la. but sumhow, we were all kinda quiet for a while in the car. i found out later that we were all thinking of the same thing.
"where shud we go for our groc?"
ummi then said,
"hmm..its not like Jusco's been here for decades. where do we usually go before the existence of Jusco in our area?"

silence.

see? hwahwa..there is this other pasaraya.lets name it X.

we used to go there la..i think. yes. i'm sure! hee..so we went there..but we didnt reeally shop there.we bought only what's categorized as a necessity for tonight.the stuff was really expensive! examples ok?

but i think i understand. i mean, they did hilang sooo ramai customers to Jusco after so many years serving the people of that area..i guess they need to at least dapat 'pulang modal'..i left X with a feeling of sympathy for it..and the business owners..takpe..rezeki Allah tentukan..i'm shur X has its own loyal customers..but i still love Jusco. i cant wait for tomoro. i'm offf for a long day groc shopping! its fun la belek2 stuff, reading labels, thinking,

excusez-moi but i've been staying at home as the housekeeper for sumtime and i believe that by now i shud be given the privilege as members of the House-that-prepares-the-groc-list!' at least i cud kurangkan ummi's burden having to sit down and write down a list..that takes a lot of effort u kno..i mean, ummi works and she cud get pretty tired u kno..and that wun be good for her health..non..non..(ooh..i am one good thoughtful daughter oui? *wink2*) agree with me? i mean, the stuff that i grabbed (and not in the list) myte come in handy. sumday! well..we cud find a day to make it 'useful'..

ohkay..i was just about to log off and 'tepis' away my thot on blogging (coz i was kinda malas..) but then, i came across sumthing..yes!! SUMthing!!or rather..sumone..

okay, rmmbr i was going on about looking for recipes and stuff few days back?..well naj mentioned this one dude. David Rocco to be exact. she passed me the website's add but i x go check it out immediately..

then, this morning, as i was changing channel, i stopped at TCS5 coz there was this dude making fennes; italian pasta. i ended up watching the show and a little voice inside my head whispered to me; "i hope this is the guy that naj mentioned"

and just a few mins ago, ryte after chatting with Naj on YM, i decided to check the chef out, and wallaaa!!! it's him! the guy i watched on TV cooking!! David Rocco the man himself!



can u actually believe that he's a chef??? tho he's a 'self-proclaimed non-chef', i sooo love his style..i don't really know whether the show i watched earlier in the morning was "Avventura: Journeys in Italian Cuisine", or "David Rocco's Dolce Vita" (naj, is this where u got the Dolce Vita part? :D)

nways..i am so gonna wait for the next episode.. he makes cooking soo much fun and really simple..potatoes, olive oil and some herbs; good enuff!!

he's a canadian italian..i like the way he speaks english..a hint of 'italy air' in it haha..well, he is soft spoken..okay, the focus is on his cooking okay..really, seriously, honestly (and all that)..

cant stop!!

its 3 in the morning, and i cant get my self offline! since, hmm...bout 12, i have been online surfing thru websites and pages of recipes and i cant stop still! everytime i decide to quit and go to bed, i'll find another page or anor good recipe! aiyyooo...

i came across this one page that listed 116 kinds of pancakes!! ad 27 kinds of souffles!! and italian food recipes! sauces! pastas! meatloafs! omelettes!!crepes! then there's the french food plak..then some international/regional recipes! mousse, puddings, pies, muffins; desserts! and all i wanted was sumthng different for breakfast!

it all started out i was looking for new ideas for breakfast tomorrow. then i thot of making sumthng diffrnt for lunch. then i came across this, then i came across that, and i saw this, and i saw that..yeah, u get the idea..point being, now i'm all pening and rambang mata nak save all recipes and nak try out sooo many recipes!!

m leaving for a weekend kat Riviera in Melaka. abah got some work and we're all taking the advantage to ikut him and lepak2 laze away..Kinah pon patutnye ikut ayah dia! then i'll have teman to go walk along the beach!! fun!*hoping so*

owh yeah, today went oyut with Aufa. she was staying at Pan Pac so me n mun g amek her and we went jalan2 cari makan, taking pics kat Danga Bay and Singgah Selalu..posted the pics alredi. hope she had fun! owh n yeah, her aunt's the regional manager for Body Shop and yes! she gets free products! but i guess she got over the excitement after getting too much of them.ehhee..yg penting, she got my car park ticket stamped free!! yippie..and the guy at the car park was..hmm..nice..(agree mun?haha)

too bad, i really wanted to send them to the terminal with all their luggage and stuff but thn i had to rush back pick abah..takde rezeki..oh well!

the other day, i went to Tebrau City with Nibah n Djah. hehe...got my license back, and that's the 1st place i ran off to. o well..da janji ngan djah lame dah. well, anyways, later in the evening i knew i was called to that place. Barney was there!!! Barney's Beach Party!! haha..i knoowhhoooh..keh3.. sigh. i wish Elmo wud turun JB.haritu time kat OU i culdnt even get close to the gates..sooo ramai kekanak..haih..i wanna meet Elmo!!! i am sooo in need of a small kid as a gate pass. i tell you if Elmo turun JB, i'm gonna drag baby nanim along and i will terhegeh2 kat tempat tuh and go "my sister wants to take a pic with Elmo or she's gonna throw a tantrum and create a chaos here." ha..then shur pakgad tu akan bg i lepas. or i'll just make nanim cry and i'll go, "help her stop crying by taking a pic for us with Elmo pleez."

overall, on Tebrau City, it's a good place to go eat out. they got biiig restaurants..yep, Delifrance la plg penting. i mean, so far, the only DF i kno, adA kat CS je..and thats, well, i dun really like CS. but i luv2 TC la. kalau saje nak hangout la. i still have to explore the garden area by the carpark. its quite the most excellent place to waste money too. i mean, they got from..hmm..TNS down to Elle, Roxy (ergh..tacky), Esprit and all those real expensive stores. oh!!n G2000! i hear blazers calling!
oh and hey, ada M.A.C shop! yes, shop! not stall or booth but a small lot of its own!! (i hear u naj!) well...
SUNGGUH i teringat kat Naj when i saw M.A.C. hmm..wel..banyak la stores there. but, TC wasnt as big as i expected it to be..oh n how can i forget??!?! they got goood bags+shoes boutiques!!

ohkay..excusez-moi, mind my enthusiasm over shopping malls. i sound very materialistic here dont i? lol..hehe..who said one must buy everytime they go out? well, for ur info, i hv gotten over my spending habit. heck, wait, pernah ke pon i had such a habit? oh well..i like going out to malls. u get great gurlfrens with u, a good meal, and hey, thats a good day for u! i remember going out with Sue and trying out sooo many outfits! name it, coats, bags, shoes, summer dresses, tops, skirts, and left the stores withoit buying anything! ok, maybe just one or 2 la..but still! puas haha..puas coz berjaya lawan nafsu ok. so, from anor point of view, shopping is a good exercise, for the feminine soul? hee..

lunchtime tadi...er..i guess i meant yesterday; me and zahid raided teh kitchen and whipped up stuff. zahid cooked mee hoon goreng, recipe sendiri (he insisted on that) and me, i found this french food recipe book the other day kat Jusco and with whatever of the recipe that i cud remember, voila!


nways..i left out some ingredients (coz i cudnt find 'em in the kitchen) and did some modification and ..hmm.there you are. potatoes, eggs, milk, herbs, spices, cheese; minus cream=good lunch.

OMG..*wailing* i am now officially a couch potato (really heavy one too) and i am suffering depression due to the the too-long-of-a-holiday and i think my brain is now slow, not functioning well and is a lil disoriented. to overcome such prob, i try to keep myself occupied. before i become a real sloth. a man human version of a sloth. (ergh..)

okay, i got a list. on it too. but hmm..cooking; means i have to eat!! *wail again* so does that mean i have to stop cooking? aah..intressant..ok..hmm..what else..i get myself occupied looking up for things online. but that will keep me sitting down!!!! that, doesnt help. i neeed to move!! and so, i really really need to work my muscles..dancing's great. but i want a proper class la. meB aerobics kot naik sem nnt..hmm..i have yet to start on yoga. *Calling out to instructors*

i really gotta stop nw. i have 5 hours left to pack up my stuff, to decide what's necessary to bring, what's not, what not to forget..what i must not bother...ohoho..where is my check list??

n right now, Iran's playing against Mexico. i was watching some murder trial movie on 9 and suddenly i lost control over the remote the minute the match began. deyh..but actually..not bad ah. it was funny tho when me n my dad was actually taking turns switching the channels. lol. and when tetiba je everyone menjerit goal tak masuk, masuk or sum guy played wrong. lol again. adrenaline rush ah? but seriously, Iran was playing it ..well.ok.let's say, i had fun jugakla watching the game. i like the way Iran players control the ball. cume tergelak coz Umi cerita it was out on the news that Mexico flew pawangs over to German for the game. we'll see ah ke'effective'an jampi2 derang.

(OMG!! was i actually talking about football matches????)

my thoughts,

1. why are most of the players' hairdo are real bad? i mean, they have enough cash to pay for a haircut! even to pay for a daily hair treatment!
2. whats the problem if the guys wear long trousers instead of shorts? i mean, they should allow the muslims if they want to wear long ones. yes, i kno Saudi's team wears long ones but WC bole jugak ke?i know that time MSD (national school games) takleh. but at least the guys are allowed to wear long stockins. kinda like tights right? oh well..
3. why don't Malaysia air NBA games on TV??? or any ordinary basketball games??? being fair is a virtue okay!! good moral! doesn't ever cross their minds that there actually exist people who are NOT football fans and like basketball instead? or wait, shud i ask if the word 'basketball' is even in their vocabs' book? hehe...but at least 8tv do tayangkan news on bball games. walaupon sikit jeh..
4. those guys, after playing the game, all sweaty and bound-to-be smelly BOLEH nak tukar2 baju ngan team lawan nye players??? talk about personal hygiene!! yuck.
5. kaya tuan rumah FIFA WC ek. people from all over the world flew (ofkos not literally) over to German for the games. haih..shopowners boleh tutup kedai aftr WC sbb untung dah..
6. i watched on hmm.Documentary channel kot; bout the ..emm..*ingat blk nama stadium tuh* ha, Allianze Arena (i asked org,kalau salah, salah a.. ;p) well yeah, its such an amazing magnifique building! did u know that the lights around the building tu changes from yellow, white, blue, green..(the list goes on!) seriously!! chantek..the architect tu sorg tua sorg lagi..bolela in his forties kot..ok, takde kaitan pon..

trip, WC fever..etc

M back from the family trip. altho there was quite a drama before we left, thrown in some tantrums (casts are ryhn and the parents of course. iman, details later ;D) but alhmd all went fine. in fact, there was precious quality time spent between me, umi n abah (ofcourse baby nanim had to tag along) when we went to the Tmn Pertanian when all my other above-2-and-below-19 years old siblings went off on their own after renting a bike each.i love the tmn Pertanian kat Bukit Cahaya Alam (TPBCA) tuh. the 1st time i went there was time Kembara Siswa tuh. but time tu program so mcm tak enjoy fully la. i vowed that i wud get myself there again. rupenye later i found out later that my dad and all my sibs dah explore that place some time ago. ah..perils of being a university student staying so far away from home. nways, yeah, my dad took all the kiddies there when they came to KL sbb Umi ada mesy. so while waiting for Umi, abah took them cycling round the whole existing ground of the TPBCA. anyways, well, now ada baby nanim (Who btw, tak thn panas. some skin problem) abah n umi cannot la join the cycling trip. and apparently, i wasnt feeling so great due to the ever so clingy Mr.fever hrtu, so abah, me,baby n umi took a ride on the coach yg pepusing tmn tuh..mak aih..the driver took us to the Rumah Musim je! ingat kan dia akan bawa us to all the places yg ada. hampeh. umi was obviously disappointed but what to do, we cant walk je. baby nanim was getting restless tho..so, we spent some time at the small cafe and later masuk kereta tunggu the others. Zahid took all the adik2 on bikes. segerombolan 5 basikal haha.hmm..hopefully i will get to gather gurlfrens yg minat ngn nature n go cycle2 kat TPBCA one day..
(achievement! i successfully influenced abah into buying only well-known, established, acknowledged brands for drinks and that they are to be either bottled or canned. and that he musnt minta ice cubes coz for all u kno, those ice cubes myte be made from contaminated water!!) yeah, i know. freak. lol.

World Cup fever. i am saved. from both the ordinary fever-with-body-temp (alhmd) and the World Cup fever. its been aaaaages and centuries since the last time i watched a football match with full enthusiasm and excitement and passion and yeah..u get the idea. as far as i could remember, it was those days back in the UK. most probably because the Aston Villa's stadium was waaay to near to my house. everytime there's a match there, we would hear the noise, cheers, preet2 sound from the referee's whistle loud n clear. ok, the whistle sound not so clear la. but yeah, and i remember watching Brazil playing against France. that was the last world cup i watched. (haha..i am supporting both France n Brazil..what a comb.) well..so long was the days of football fan for ryhn. one thing for shur, my crazy-football-faNatics gurlfrens are already on the move stocking up enough food to last thruout the WC Season next to their couch or nearby so they dun have to move far away from the TV hehe and making their couch all comfy, pillows and cushions all thrown in. have fun gurls. and guys ofcourse. how can i forget! haha..my dad n my bros sume dah hapal dah jadual all the team's nye match..haiyaa..i guess m not gonna be able to get my hands on the remote control withOUT getting injured (from the predicted struggle n fight.lol) i am now into basketball. its sooo much fasterrr n mooovin' (said the same to Naj). all the excitement, the sound of the shoes squeaking running up and down the court (owh!! the shoes!! i love to tengok kasut derang..haih..*Sigh*), the action is ssooooo IT for me! every second is counted, points have to be scored, it's a race against the clock ticking! i guess i'm just not patient enough to wait for a goal in football games eh..

MCing job. i thought they would all be serik dah by now, after KTKN especially, to call me up for the job..haih..*confused* i have yet to decide. 2 slots, 2 distinguished figures; national prog, waaay bigger and grander , men-packed and all that. decide ryhn!! oh dang.. ryte now, all thats in my mind is to get the green light from my parents with regard to the car issue!! naaaak..huhu..hmm *brain working like mad scheming more plots n plans to get a 'yes' from umi n abah* oh yeah, n K-Care stuff.i am soo lost. n not ashamed to admit. i have figured a lot of reasons n wisdoms God placed me in the K-Care team. a team that's starting from scratch, the pioneer batch, just like the IAU (or vice versa) *yeay to positivism!* uplifts the spirit.

God please i pray to get well soon. abah said that we'll be leaving for a family trip to sumwhere atas sane..prolly Perak kot.dekat2 sane but Zahid wun be with us la if he makes it for the Johor's team for futsal. Sukan JIM's this weekend. hmm..but hey! i sooo nak pegi Taipeng's Zoo.

apa2 pon, i am down with fever. and travelling wun be cool if i'm sick and all weak and lethargic and 'stale' huhu..i'm not gonna be fun, and i'm gonna be eating extra than usual. dah la mmg kalau travelling, it's a family tradition to spend money on food and meals and food and meals..waaargh..takleh tolong..

being sick, today i watched 3 movies on a row. i am now a certfied potato couch. i hate myself now!
